UTP (Unshielded twisted-pair) is one type of network cable that uses copper butter base material, which is not equipped with an internal shield. UTP is the most common type of cable that is often used in local networks (LAN), because the price is low, flexible and the performance shown is relatively good. In UTP cables, there is one-layer insulation that protects the cable from physical tension or damage but, unlike Shielded Twisted-pair (STP) cable, the insulation does not protect the cable from electromagnetic interference.
UTP cable is used as a cable for a Local Area Network (LAN) network on a network system / computer network, and generally UTP cables have an impedance of approximately 100 ohms, and are also divided into several categories based on their ability to deliver data.
UTP cables are divided into several categories as follows: Category 1 (Cat1), Category 2 (Cat2), Category 3 (Cat3), Category 4 (Cat4), Category 5 (Cat5), Enhanced Category 5 (Cat5e), Category 6 (Cat6) ), Category 7 (Cat7)
